What to look out for when you decide to have semi-permanent makeup

SAFETY above all! If you are wondering whether semi-permanent makeup – eyebrow tattooing can be done at your own place, at your home, my answer is no! You come to the studio. Applying semi-permanent makeup or a tattoo requires a clean, specially arranged environment that complies with hygiene rules, and specialised equipment for the whole procedure. The place where semi-permanent makeup is applied must be clean and properly sterilised! Everything you see in the space where you are having semi-permanent makeup – tattooing (eyebrows, eyes, lips) done should inspire confidence in you. The specialist should also be tidy and well groomed. Do not hesitate to ask the specialist how the workspace is sterilised, etc. IT IS YOUR HEALTH!!! All work surfaces must be spotless and sterilised in the proper way, with a special disinfectant liquid. The specialist must use a SINGLE-USE needle, which must be opened in front of you! After the procedure, it must be disposed of properly, in a special recycling bin.

CONTRAINDICATIONS exist… Fortunately, though, there are not many of them. Still, they must be taken into account. First of all, if there is a herpes outbreak on the lips in its active phase (sores or pimples that have appeared on the mucous membrane during a period of weakened immunity). In that case, you must wait for this “infection” or any other sign of inflammation to pass. If you decide on a lip tattoo, you must ALWAYS take anti-herpes medication three (3) days before and two (2) days after the application. In most cases, any intrusion into your skin will obviously trigger herpes, if it is already in your blood, of course. This is unavoidable, since our immunity cannot react any other way. Therefore, anti-herpes prophylaxis is required to eliminate an outbreak during the procedure and then during healing. Also, tattooing is not recommended in the first and last trimester of pregnancy, during the lactation period (breastfeeding), during periods of inflammatory illness accompanied by a rise in temperature, in severe forms of diabetes mellitus, haemophilia, oncological diseases, during chemotherapy (afterwards – you are welcome!), HIV and hepatitis. Everything else is permitted.
