Semi-permanent makeup (micropigmentation) is a solution for people living with alopecia.
Unfortunately, doctors are not able to fully treat alopecia. Sometimes they can support the patient at a certain stage for a long period of time, but often the hair loss cannot be stopped. And so a person, whether a man or a woman, is left with the problem and has to face it alone.
This does not make them any less valuable than someone with thick, strong hair, but their self-esteem can change dramatically. And our society, unfortunately, is not ready to accept people who differ from the majority.
What is medical tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) for people with alopecia?
Medical tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) for people with alopecia helps change not only your face, but also your state of mind. Micropigmentation lets us cover the areas where hair is missing. We can also shape and create new eyebrows, or hairs on the scalp, for both men and women. The result is so realistic that no one will realize you have had a medical tattoo or semi-permanent makeup.
You can also have a lash-line enhancement (eyeliner). This is a very fine line that follows the eye in a natural dark shade, to make up for missing eyelashes.
What is alopecia and who does it affect?
Alopecia, also known as scarring alopecia, is a condition that causes total or partial hair loss, or thinning in certain areas of the head or body. It can start anywhere on the body and is characterized by severe hair loss.
Alopecia affects both men and women, although it usually shows up in different ways: while men often experience total hair loss, women are more typically affected by thinning.
Causes of alopecia:
- Hormonal disorders in the body (thyroid conditions, menopause, pregnancy, fungal infections).
- Skin injuries (mechanical trauma, radiation, chemicals, burns).
- Genetic predisposition.
- Excess testosterone production.
- Nerve damage, tension, depression, anxiety.
- Bad habits and an unhealthy diet.
- An autoimmune response of the body. In this case, the reason for the condition is unclear.
- A pronounced aesthetic flaw or a serious psychological problem.
For people with alopecia, semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) helps them not to feel different.
Medical tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) for people with alopecia cannot stop the loss of hair or eyelashes, but it can help conceal the problem!
A woman who has semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) no longer needs to draw on her eyebrows every day or worry about her appearance because of alopecia.
Not everyone has the ability to draw their eyebrows symmetrically, either.
Especially when the person affected by alopecia is a man.
Men’s eyebrows should not have a neat, feminine shape.
And as you probably already know, drawing natural, perfect eyebrows with an ordinary pencil is almost impossible. Semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing), by contrast, will give you an absolutely natural result. Micropigmentation (semi-permanent makeup) has helped thousands of people around the world achieve a modern, well-groomed and youthful look, regardless of the degree of hair loss.
Medical tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) for people with alopecia will make your life more successful, and you will forget the problem of missing hair that may have haunted you all these years.
You will smile more often, and your mood will lift.
Your confidence and self-esteem will rise.
You will live fully and successfully, and that is happiness!
As for me, over the years of my practice as a semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) specialist, I have repeatedly helped people who have been diagnosed with alopecia. Whether it is semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) on the eyebrows, on the eyes (lash-line eyeliner) or scalp pigmentation, it helps women and men feel more comfortable and more relaxed.
What pigments do we use when applying semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) on people with alopecia?
It is very important which pigment is used for your semi-permanent makeup. A good-quality pigment will never change color, no matter how much time passes! In my studio I use ECO pigments: hypoallergenic, high-quality pigments from European companies, produced under the strict rules of European legislation (Eco Color, Biotek, Swiss Color, Nouveau Contour).
What is the application procedure for medical tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) for people with alopecia?
First, the specialist will draw the appropriate shape with a pencil, depending on the area where the semi-permanent makeup will be applied, to suit your individual features, your age and your face. She will also recommend a color according to your coloring.
Of course, your wishes are taken into account. Once the design is ready and you are happy with it, the application of the semi-permanent makeup or medical tattoo begins.
How is semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) applied for people with alopecia?
Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, is a professional technique performed by mechanically implanting pigments into the epidermis. Special devices are used during the application, which, through a very fine (nano) needle, introduce the pigment under the skin, at the inner epidermal level of the dermis, in a safe and painless way.
The device we use for micropigmentation (semi-permanent makeup) is the latest nano-technology. It is in fact one of the best in the world, from the leading Italian brand ‘BIOTEK’. The needles used are single-use and sterilized, in specially sealed packaging.
How long does the semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) procedure take?
One to one and a half hours. During the procedure you will lie back on comfortable professional equipment, with music playing.
Does the application of semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing) hurt?
The procedure is not painful, or the pain is minimal. A special numbing cream (topical anesthetic) is used, which numbs the area and dulls the pain.
After the semi-permanent makeup (medical tattooing), will I be able to go straight back to sun exposure, exercise and work?
Yes, everything as normal. Applying semi-permanent makeup or a medical tattoo does not injure your skin, which is why healing is very quick (in 6-8 days). You will not be able to go to the beach during the first week. During this time your color will stay a little darker, but do not worry. Once it has healed, the color will lighten and become more natural.
Does it need care straight afterwards?
Aftercare is very simple! For the first few days you should avoid contact with water and use the special cream that your specialist will recommend.
How many sessions are needed to see the result and how long does it last?
The semi-permanent makeup procedure is always completed in 1-2 sessions within 30-45 days.
The result lasts one to two years, depending on your skin, your hormones and your age. To keep the color fresh, I recommend a touch-up, usually after one year.
I love what I do, and I do it with impeccable professionalism and with all my heart.
If I can help you, call me. I will be glad to answer any questions you have!
I look forward to welcoming you to my studio with love.
