Which semi-permanent makeup method should I choose?

Today, permanent makeup is changing for the better – new techniques and new colours are being invented, and equipment is being upgraded. Tattooing has undergone significant changes since the 1990s; the thin blue-green threads instead of brows and the dark lip outline are a thing of the past! In recent years, high-quality machines allow the professional to create the most natural result on your face. Not only have the pigments changed (they are now lighter pigments, the result of which lasts from one to two years, depending on the skin), but the depth of penetration into the skin has also been reduced. Now the pigment is implanted in the surface layer of the skin, the “epidermis”, and not in the deeper layer, the “dermis”, as in a classic tattoo. In semi-permanent makeup there are special machines made specifically for the face.

There are two techniques for applying pigment to the skin: shading and the hair-stroke technique. Many specialists call them different names depending on their style and preferences. Eyebrow shading gives a natural result, as if you had defined your brows with a pencil or shadow. We choose this method when there are hairs in the brows and we want to shape them and fill in the gaps. With the hair-stroke technique, the specialist can draw very fine little hairs on your skin that cannot be told apart from your natural ones. This technique is usually chosen when there are no hairs at all in the brow and the skin is combination to dry, or dry. The “hair-stroke” technique is not suitable for oily skin. At best, after 3-4 months the colour will become blurred and will look like shading, or, if the skin is very oily, the result looks even more blurred.

Always choose a good, certified specialist and a reputable studio where hygiene standards are observed, and avoid “home-based” artists. We advise you to read the reviews carefully and look at photos of the specialist’s work.

After semi-permanent makeup, healing is quick and comfortable. The final result is visible within a month. The general guidelines are quite simple: do not wet your brows for the first 7-10 days, do not scratch them, do not peel off the crusts, and do not use makeup during healing. Once they have peeled, you should use a high-SPF sunscreen and avoid the sauna and solarium for the first three weeks.

I will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and I look forward to welcoming you with love at my studio in Kallithea.
